Four nights dinner, bed and breakfast at the Chesterhouse Hotel, Douglas
Day 1 - You will be collected from your pick up place as arranged and taken, with suitable stops en-route to Heysham from where we board the ferry that will take us to the Isle of Man and the very excellent Chesterhouse Hotel in Douglas.
Day 2 – This morning take you to Laxey, home of the famous Laxey Wheel which is the largest water wheel in the world. Completed in 1854 by John Casement, an engineer from Laxey, its purpose was to pump water from the Glen Moor part of the Great Laxey Mines industrial complex. Have a look around here and perhaps take a walk up the steps to The Great Laxey Wheel & Mine Trail (at own expense). Afterwards we will visit Castletown which was once the Capital of the Isle of Man and the seat of Tynwald, the Island's parliament. We return to the hotel in time for dinner.
Day 3 – Today we have left free for you to explore the capital of the Isle of Man – Douglas. The hotel is situated on the promenade within easy reach of all the local amenities.
Day 4 – We will take you today on the islands steam train to Port Erin which has a beautiful sandy beach set in an enclosed harbour. Next we visit the small seaside town of Ramsey. Afterwards we take you to Peel from where you can catch a glimpse of the beautiful Mountains of Mourne. Here you can have lunch if you wish and spend the afternoon before we return to the hotel in time for dinner.
Day 5 – Sadly today we must leave the Isle of Man and head back to the ferry terminal to start the journey to Lincolnshire. We will take you back, with suitable stops en route, to your original pick up place.
