Two nights dinner, bed & breakfast at the Delta by Marriott Durham Hotel
Day 1- Once all passengers have been collected from the agreed pick up points we will make our way with suitable stops to the city of Newcastle. This large city is divided into different districts which are home to a number of attractions. The quaysides are home to the Castle & Cathedral. Grainger Town can be found to the north of the city centre where you will see Victorian listed buildings lining the grey street. Chinatown is located to the west of the city; here you will find the Life Science Centre & the Discovery Museum. East of the centre you will find Town Moor where there are open parklands, the Laing Gallery & the University Museums. In the centre of Newcastle you will find an abundance of shops, cafes & restaurants. We will make our way to Durham & the Delta By Marriott Durham Hotel in time for you to freshen up for your evening meal.
Day 2 – After breakfast today you have free time to explore the city of Durham. The city sits on the banks of the River Wear & is the home of Durham Cathedral. Spend your day visiting museums, shopping or sightseeing. Durham has also been the set for a number of block buster films such as Harry Potter & Avengers Endgame, can you spot the sets?
We ask you to return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.
After our evening meal we make our way to the Kynren performance. The open air show uses live action, stunts, combat & pyrotechnics to bring to life 2000 years of history. As this is an outdoor event the temperature will drop in the evening so we advise you to take warm clothing etc. to keep yourself warm. Umbrellas are not permitted at the performance so we recommend you have a rain mac. Large bags are not permitted within the grounds. Bags must be limited to 40x30x20cm. We will return to the hotel after the performance.
Day 3
– After breakfast today we make our way to the living museum of the North Beamish. Take a look at the 1900s town and see what life was like for families leading up to the First World War or the Pit Village where you will find traditional cottages and even the local school. In the 1950s town you can even find a traditional fish & chip shop and the sweet shop. After you have had plenty of time to explore the museum we return you to Lincolnshire and your original boarding points.
