Aberfoyle 8 Day Special

Seven nights dinner, bed and breakfast at the Rob Roy Hotel, Aberfoyle

Day One – You will be collected from your agreed pick up point and taken, with suitable stops en-route to the Rob Roy Hotel in Aberfoyle, our home for the next seven nights.

Day Two – Today we take you to beautiful area of Dundee and St Andrews. Today, Dundee is promoted as "One City, Many Discoveries" in honour of Dundee's history of scientific activities and of the RRS Discovery, Robert Falcon Scott's Antarctic exploration vessel, which was built in Dundee and is now berthed at Discovery Point. St Andrews is, of course, world famous for its golfing history but also has a stunning shoreline as well as many other attributes. We return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Three – We have left today free for you to have a rest (and our poor driver). There are some beautiful walks out from the hotel or you may wish to take a walk into the village.

Day Four – Today we have an excursion to Stirling. Here you will find the Castle which houses the Museum of the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders, you may wish to visit The National Wallace Monument or spend time browsing the shops in the Shopping Centre. We will then take you to Dobbies Garden Centre where you can have lunch if you wish before we continue to Callander – home of Dr Finlay’s Casebook. We will return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Five – After breakfast today we take you for sightseeing cruise on Loch Lomond and a visit to Loch Lomond Shores which has lots to offer for everyone. We return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Six – We have a visit today to Scotland’s capital city Edinburgh. The city offers a wealth of culture with the fabulous museums, castles, houses and palaces in addition to the fantastic shops of Princes Street. We will return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Seven – Today we take you on a scenic Clydeside tour through the towns of Port Glasgow, Greenock and Gourock which were the home to the ship building hustle and bustle of the industry. The first ship to be built in Port Glasgow was the Comet in 1812, Europe’s first ocean-going steamship and establishing the Clyde as a global shipbuilding mecca. Some of the world’s most famous ships have been built on the Clyde, with Port Glasgow at its centre. Port Glasgow took its name from the fact that the upper reaches of the Clyde, closer to Glasgow, were too shallow to accommodate ships, sometimes being as shallow as 2 feet at low tide. We continue to Largs where we will stop for lunch and time to explore this popular seaside town. We will return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Eight – Sadly today we must leave the stunning scenery of the Trossachs behind as we make our way, with suitable stops en-route back to Lincolnshire and our original boarding points.

We operate this tour in July & September too.
