Bute-y-ful Isle of Bute

Four nights dinner, bed and breakfast at the Glenburn Hotel Isle of Bute

Day One - You will be collected from your agreed pick up point and taken to the town of Wemyss Bay from where we board the ferry for the short crossing to the Isle of Bute.  We will arrive at the Glenburn Hotel in time for you to freshen up before the evening meal.

Day Two - This morning we take you to the breathtaking Mount Stuart House and Gardens. The house is truly a house of firsts, the first house in the world to have a heated indoor swimming pool, first in Scotland to be purpose built with electric lights, central heating, a telephone system and passenger lift, most of which are still operational now. Mount Stuarts 300 acres of gardens and grounds are home to a spectacular collection of native and exotic flora giving life to several gardens with distinct personalities. Afterwards you are free to look around Rothesay, the main town on the island.  We return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Three – After a leisurely breakfast today we set off for a circular tour of the island. We return to the hotel in time for the evening meal.

Day Four – We will have a visit today to Inveraray. We set off after breakfast to Rhubodach from where we catch the ferry for the short journey to Colintrave. We then have a scenic drive through the beautiful Argyle countryside to Inveraray. Firstly we have a guided tour of the magnificent Inveraray Castle. Afterwards you will be able to explore this lovely little town and perhaps visit other attractions such as the jail and the Clyde Puffer (all at own expense) before we set off for our return ferry crossing.  We will arrive back at the hotel in time for dinner.

Day Five - Sadly today we must leave the beautiful Isle of Bute behind and make our way back to Lincolnshire and our original boarding points.
